THINGS THAT GO WRONG

This is a set of printable improv acting games prompts. Each card has a 'things that go wrong' scenario plus the resource contains acting games suggestions to use the cards with. These cards have been created for use with various improv acting games and exercises but can be used with so many more. Use them for spontaneous improvisation games where a prompt is needed or otherwise task players to come up with scenes or monologues based on the cards.

Use these 'things that go wrong' cards (which act as an improvisation scenario) with the following suggested improv acting games (instructions included in resource), use them to start scenes or to start any improv:

  • Open Scene
  • Understudy
  • New Perspective
  • Genre Switch

If you're like me, some days you just can't think of creative scene prompts or ideas for your drama or theatre class games and activities. If you are teaching improv to middle school or high school or doing improv with adults, these improvisation cards provide instant funny prompts and hours of acting fun!

Example 'things that go wrong' improv acting game prompts:

  • The pilot of a light aircraft faints mid flight
  • Someone unexpected (and uninvited) shows up to a wedding
  • Something attacks on a scuba diving exhibition

Within each Drama Card set from Drama Trunk you will find prompts suitable for various levels (beginner to advanced) and age groups and I suggest having a quick flick through before the class and taking out more advanced or beginner prompts (depending on the class and year level). Most are suitable for all of the grade levels listed.

Combine the use of multiple drama or improv card sets for even more drama and improv activities, challenges and ideas (you will have a HUGE amount of activities ready to go when needed)!
